PROLOGUE: DARKNESS RISES
Long ago, in a different world then what we are use to now, layed a place known as Nalatashan. Nalatashan was a relm of many fantastic, magnificent creatures known as dragons. They were well civilized, organized, and all around intellegent. They had there own system of government, there own cities, there own jobs, all in all, like the life we have today only in the dark ages time period. Among the cities was the Highkhan, or as we would call it, the Supreme King. His name was Greyscale. Portals would be opened from the human and dragon worlds upon free will, but were forbidden for doing. The reason of such doing was only for diplomatic missions or a supply run should crops fail and food was low. Last time a portal opened, the embassys of the dragons were all destroyed and collapsed (considering the fact they were caves near the city) and a war between humans and the peaceful dragon kind took place. Though dragons are peaceful by nature, they still will fight should it be nessacary. When Greyscale discovered the human threat was low and there casaualties high, he ordered the warriors of the dragon kind to fall back to Nalatashan.
Greyscale was a large, Western dragon that you would think of when you think of dragons attacking England, only he had a dirty grey scale color, hense his name, and a kind aura about him. He hated any form of violence and opposed several wars that ended in more then a few cities suffering. all in all, he was a respected and trusted king to all... or so he thought...
The war was quickly forgotten and dragons were hunted for sport. The war wasnt all bad however. Greyscale had found a human female named Hera (here-a) and the two despite there MAJOR diffrences fell in love. Hera fell pregneant and died at birth to a humanoid creature. It had hair like a human, body of a human, wings and tail of a dragon, and VERY, VERY short talons. Her last words were "...Nigh..." (Nh-i)Greyscale, realizing he may be challenged to the throne one day, sent the child to two elderly humansto take care of him. He used the pouring down rain for cover should anyone be watching. Once he wrapped the creature known as Nigh safely in a warm and now slightly wet blanket, he made a portal and with a heavy heart, left to return to Nalatashan.
Almost 3 hours later, he WAS challanged to a fight to the death for the right of Highkhan. Greyscale prevailed. "Malagar (mal-a-gar), you have lost this fight. I shall not kill you, but your battle scars you have earned today shall mark you as a traitor that has rebelled against his king. I hearby decree you to be exiled from Nalatashan to the land beyond the mountain of Ignacitious (igh-nay-she-us) as an exile for 50 years. Should you ever return before then, you will suffer greatly." Greyscale told Malagar. After malagar's exile, all the chaos seemed to stop. No wars, no illnesses spreading, no famines or food shortages... it was almost as if Malagar caused this!
One day, nearly 2 years after Malagar's exile, he returned with an army of great size and power. He HIMSELF was beyond reconision by his increase in immense power. "By my fathers blood... who IS that???" Greyscale asked watching from the window in his palace in the main city in Nalatashan. The City was known as Glielore and a glielorien guard ran in asd if to answer Greyscale's question. "Sir... *pant pant* I.... Enemy... under Malagar's... banner..." the glielorien manages to say panting from the burst of speed he had to put on to reach Greyscale in time. "WHAT?!?!?! MALAGAR???? What the hell has he done... He couldn't have obtained THAT much power naturally... Damn him... Prepare the city for siege! Dress the soldiers!" Greyscale ordered. The scout bowed in respect nodding and ran out to assemble the army of Glielore. "I fear that this is one war i will not win... so long as Nigh lives however, There is hope for Glielore..." Greyscale said to himself.
CHAPTER ONE: 5 YEARS PAST
"Hey grandpa, can we please go to the barn and play catch?" Nigh asked. He had become a full human! no wings, no tail... No memory of being anything BUT a human. "Oh ho ho ho... I dont know if these old bones can handle it Nigh..." the elderly man said laughing. He was 85 years old but had the look of only 53. "come on please???" nigh begged. The old man laughed. "Fine fine... i think i have SOME youth in me still... lets go." the man said. "George? Are you going some where?" a fragile sounding voice came from the kitchen. "Sarah? i didn't know you were home! Me and nigh were just going out to the barn to play catch. We'll be back before it gets to late!" George said.
The two played in the barn playing diffrent games including hide and seek, tag, catch, and George even taught Nigh how to do some swordfighting. "Gramdpa? why do you know how to sword fight?" Nigh asked. "Well... Long ago, I was in the army. One of the skills they teach soldiers is hand to hand combat. I was taught how to use swords, sabers, clubs, maces, almost any one handed weapon you can think of! I prefered swords the most though... Speaking of swords... I have a gift from you. My fathers, father had given it and passed it down. Now, I'm passing it on to you. Dont let Grandma know though ok?" George said winking. "Ok." nigh said happy to be getting a "gift" from his grandfather. "now close you eyes and promise me you wont peek." George said. Nigh closed his eyes and covered his face his his hands. George walked over to a haystack and moved it aside revealing a hidden door! He opened it and got a long box out. He closed the door, covered it, and walked over to Nigh with it.
Nigh dusted off the box. On it, it had the picture of a green dragon sleeping and a Human girl laying on its side. It wasn't very detailed... and time had faded many features it DID have, but Nigh liked it anyway. He opened the box to see a long, silver with gold trimmed sword in the box. "Nigh... there's a story that goes with that sword. It was said that even the king of England had used that sword. It was said to be a mark of passage as to who would be king. Many years have dulled the blade, but it still remains polished and in great condition. I give it to you now king Nigh." george said smiling and politely bowed to Nigh. Nigh smiled. "Thank you grandpa. This is the best gift EVER!!!" Nigh said. "George! Nigh! Dinner!" Sarah called. "Rember Nigh... DONT let grandma know you have that." George said. He put his hand through Nigh's dirty blonde hair messing it up.
"For the LAST TIME! WHERE IS YOUR SON?!?!?" Malagar demanded. Greyscale was bloody and baddly beaten and chained to a wall in his own cities dungeon. "I already told you... he died at birth!" Greyscale lied. "Really? Rember those 7 years ago when you gave me this scar?" Malagar asked walking around to show Greyscale his red scar sticking out amoung his black scales. "What of it?" Greyscale asked. "This scar marked me... it strengthened me... and weakened you. Your claw was already broken when you did this... our blood mixed... I could feel your emotions. You were happy about something yet felt a great sorrow of losing your ... human... wife. Bah, those hairless apes barely deserve to right to walk this Earth! they pollute and corrupt everything! ...but you know something... you think you can stop me through your son?" Malagar said pacing in a circle slowly around Greyscale's body.
"My son IS dead! You WILL die though... if not by me then by someone else! Your plan to wipe out every last human WILL fail!" Greyscale said. "Really? and just who is left to do so? Hmm? Do you think those pathetic meatbag humans can REALLY penatrate my scales? Do you REALLY think there "advanced" technologies can even graze me?" Malagar said slyly. Greyscale spat into Malagar's face. "GAH!!!" Malagar roared and slashed Greyscale on the snout making 3 small rivers of black dragon blood trickle down. "YOU WILL TELL ME WHERE HE IS OR I WILL DESTROY ALL OF GLIELORE AS WELL!!!!!!!" Malagar roared in anger giving up on trying to coax the information out of Greyscale.
Two weeks had passed with out food or water and Greyscale's life was beginning to dim and he knew it. However, so did Malagar. "Will you tell me where your son is now or must I kill you?" Malagar asked. "Kill me because I'll never talk." Greyscale said weakly. One of Malagar's soldiers came in with a sword coated with something vile. He lunged it into Greyscales side. A few minutes past and Greyscale felt dizzy. "I'll ask you again... Where is your son?" Malagar asked. "I... already told you I will never... talk..." Greyscale said. "If you won't... mabey your wife will!" Malagar said darkly. "That's... impossible... she's dead..."Greyscale said. "Is she now? Bring her in." Malagar said.
A guard acted as if he was bringing a hostage in. The stuff on the sword began to make Greyscale hallusinate! "Let him go! please stop hurting him!" The imaganiary Hera shouted. "Stop!... Don't hurt her!..." Greyscale said weakly trying to break free of his chains. "Tell me where your son is or she will die." Malagar ordered. "He... Nigh is... at the... human relm... on the Planador farms... now let her go!" Greyscale said. His vision clerared and he realised he was tricked. "...No... No......" Greyscale said collapsing onto the floor. "Thank you for the information... Guards, you may now dispose of him..." Malagar said. A dragon that stood on two legs like a human would came over with a pike in his claws. He raised it above his head and then everything went dark... Greyscale was no more...
That night, after dinner and everyone was in there beds, Nigh awoke feeling something was very wrong. He got out of his bed and went to open his door, but let out a cry of pain when he touched the doorknob! It was burning hot! Nigh winced as he forced himself to open the door. Fire and smoke flew into his room! He managed to get out of his room and ran to his grandparents room. "GRANDMA! GRANDPA! WAKE UP!!!" Nigh shouted. The two woke with a start. They almosted seemed like they were trained for a thing like this to happen one day! Nigh, George, and Sarah all got to the hallway. "There's a fire escape stepway that way!" George said pointing to a window where the fire wasnt to bad at. The three ran toward it Nigh leading. A loud crack was heard and a ceiling beam support fell cutting Nigh off from George and Sarah! "Grandma! Grandpa! No!" Nigh shouted.
He tried to move the beam but at that very second, the flames shot across the beam blackening Nigh's right hand making it unusable! Nigh screamed out with pain. "Nigh! go to the barn and get your sword! That could cut through this! Go! Now!" George said. Nigh ran out to the barn to see it too was on fire. The fields were on fire too! This was no accident... Nigh grabbed the Sword and box and got out JUST as the flames blocked the barns only way in and out. He turned to head back to the house when it suddenly made a large hiss then blew up! Wood and other debris hit Nigh in the face leaving a scar in the shape of an odd symbol.
Nigh dropped to his knees. "Grandma... Grandpa... No... Why??? WHY!!!!" Nigh shouted blaming himself for there deaths. He felt a drop of water on his scar making blood run. another hit his cheek. Soon it started to downpour putting the barn and field fire's out. Of course it made no diffrence now. Nigh cryed all night eventually passing out. the next morning, he felt himself being moved about. Voices were dim and uncomprihencable. He saw a red cross and knew right away he was either being taken to a hospital or was being moved through one. He passed out again. When he reawoke, he heard shouts and screames and felt a rough, scaly think moving him about again. He heard a gunshot from somewhere and passed out again.
CHAPTER TWO: SAVIOUR OR HOSTAGE?
When Nigh awoke, he was in some sort of run-down home. He stood up feeling dizzy and looked around. His sword was gone and there were all sorts of weapons on the wall! there was a banging as someone stomped up wooden steps. There was a crack as a man wearing all black robes kicked the door in while holding a scythe! He swung at Nigh cutting him deeply but not killing him or cutting off any part of him. "I am your new master now! You answer to me and me alone! You just need to call me Uncle. My name has no importaints to you. Now, get off your ass and get me a beer from downstairs!" The man raged. Nigh didn't budge. This made the man smile darkly...
After six months of living in this new, abusive home with uncle, Nigh was cut all over and broken spirited. His will to live was dimming as well. In school, he was always teased for coming in a dirty yellow-brown shirt and pants (considering he could never change and they didnt have a wash of ANY sort) and for having a new welt, cut, bruise, or scab everyday. Everyone avoided him or openly mocked him. Nigh managed to learn how to ignore them however. Finally, that night, Nigh laid in bed thinking of his grandparents and wondered who his REAL parents were. Why did they not want him? Why was he living a life of such great depression? Why him? As the moon light shone onto Nigh, he devised a plan... A plan to escape.
Nigh heard his "uncle" snoring downstairs. Nigh snuck down the creaky steps slowly one at a time as quietly as he possibly could. One false step would awaken "uncle" and Nigh was sure he would lose an arm literly for trying to escape. Nigh sucessfully made it down the steps. Now, the hardest part... Getting out through the overly squeaky door... The only way in OR out in the entire room! all the windows were bolted shut with bars on the outside to prevent Nigh's escape. This was the big challange... Nigh slowly opened the door and once it was half way open, squeezed through to avoid needing to open it compleatly. He was outside! Free! he started to walk away leaving the door open to avoid unnessacary risk of waking him while it closed.
It was never that simple. After a few seconds, the crisp fall air slammed the door shut instently waking his "uncle" up. "NNNNIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he roared loud enough to wake the dead. "Crap!" Nigh said running as fast as he could away from the building. He headed toward the woods. "Uncle" opened the door with a rifle in his hands aiming at Nigh. A gunshot rang out and a bullet hissed as it flew past Nigh's ear barely missing his head! Nigh ran even faster zigzaging in an unorganized pattern to attempt to dodge any bullets. Nigh was into the forest when the second bullet shot. It hit a tree where he was standing just a second before causing bark and wood to shatter and splint!
Nigh stopped and hid behind a tree once he was far in. He saw his uncle run past with the rifle gleeming in the moonlight. Nigh waited until the uncle was far enough away as to sneak through the crunching leaves (which was almost as likely as a gunman robbing a store infront of 10 police officers) and hid in a pile of fallen leaves. nearly an hour passed when Nigh heard a sudden loud screeching sound. Nigh looked up to see a metor falling straight at him! Nigh got out of the leaves and started to run! The flaming rock suddenly shifted its pattern in mid flight and Nigh turned to see it hit him in the stomach sending him flying and doing about 6 or 8 sumersaults backword. All grew dark...
Nigh reawoke sometime later only this time, in a cave. Thoughts instently raced through his mind. He was in a forest, how did he get in a cave? How did he get here? Why was his ears ringing so baddly? "Sevitoal dar kinmarlata Nigh?" A voice asked from the shadows. It was very... serpantine. Nigh had NO idea what it meant. "I... where..." Nigh tried to ask but he was to weak from his constant abuse and hunger to actually get much more then a weak grunt. "Kalavar! Kamanshisahn shoulramagar talathantoa Nalatashan kiilar shoultashan torstan maltho? ... Do you understand this tounge?" The voice asked shifting languages. Nigh weakly nodded then collapsed from exaustion. He was losing consiousness but he heard the voice tell him to drink something and felt a cool, bitterish sweet liquid pour down his throat. It was bitter like grass but sweet like sugar... It was a weird sensation. Nigh blacked out.
Sometime later, Nigh reawoke. He was on a stone slab in a small room-like cave! Sun shine poured in from a small hole in the ceiling. Nigh felt alot stronger and sat up. He rubbed his head and back which both hurt from sleeping for who knows how long an a slab of stone. He looked around. Strange carvings which glowed a cyan color filled the cave. "What is this place?" Nigh asked himself. "This is my home. You are my guest." The same serpantine voice came from last night said. "Who are you? where am I?" Nigh asked. It was then he noticed his cuts and bruises and scabs were ALL GONE! He automatically reached up to touch his face. His scar was still there. "The answer to your questions will be reveled in time. What I wish to ask you however is who are YOU?" the voice stated. "I am Nigh Komoro... just some kid who lived a awful life... Why do you want to know about me? Just thinking about my past brings tears to my eyes!" Nigh said. "You know your name... But you do not know who you are... I had a feeling..." the voice trailed off.
"What do you mean? What do you mean by I dont know who I am?" Nigh demanded. Silence. "Great... the voice in my head seems to be ignoring me now..." Nigh mumbled. "I am not in your head. Before I reveal myself... there are a few things I must ask you to do. None of them will be painful. First off... Tell me... What is a dragon to you? What alignment is it and what does it mean to you?" the voice asked. "A dragon is just a myth... It gives me hope when I see a picture for some reason... But nothing more. Why do you want to know about dragons?" Nigh replied truthfully. "Just curious... So your saying dragons do not exist... correct?" the voice asked. "I JUST said there a myth! do you even listen???" Nigh snapped. "Intresting... What if I told you YOU were a dragon as was your father?" the voice came a few moments later. "I'de say your insane and kindof creeping me out now..." Nigh said. Nigh backed off slowly toward the cave opening getting ready to make a run for it.
"I know your trying to escape from here... But I am not your enemy. You ARE a dragon and not only that, you are the last of the dragons with the ability to learn all the draconian elements. Fire, Ice, Mind, Electricity, Shadow, Light, Earth, and Air. There are more elements then those but they have been long forgotten..." The voice came. Nigh turned and dashed for the opening suddenly. A giant red blur dashed by and stopped in the opening blocking it with its body. Nigh gasped and fell backwords crawling back. In front of him stood a large, red scaled western styled dragon! "I'm afraid you cannot leave yet. You are still to weak and must be taught your lineage. Please do not feel imprisoned, but for all other explamations, your being held a hostage for the moment." The dragon said.
CHAPTER 3: THE TRUTH OF NIGH'S PAST
Time passed. It was an entire week and after a few failed escape attempts, Nigh gave up. The dragon healed Nigh up until finally, Nigh was fully healed with the exception of his scar. "I feel alot better... thank you for everything you've done for me... But why would you want to help me? What is so importaint about me?" Nigh asked the dragon. "You are Nigh Falldrake Komoro. The one who can save us all from Malagar. None of us could ever defeat him... Besides it is your destiny to stop him from destroying the universe." The dragon explained. "I still am not buying that whole thing about me being a dragon... Regardless of what you claim... Look at me! No scales, no claws, no teeth, no horns, no firebreath... NOTHING! You can crush a steel ship with your claws! You can snap a dimond in half with your teeth! You can damn well breathe fire and fly! What is a lowly human to someone as powerful as you???" Nigh demanded.
"Nigh... I understand what your going through... Your confused... betrayed... and above all... Regretful. Let me tell you about how Malagar came to be a... disgrace to our kind... He was perhaps the greatest of all my soldiers... Your father, Greyscale, had me at his right side for... nearly two centries! ...One day... Malagar was talking treason against Greyscale saying how he had deserved to rule all of Glielore and that Greyscale was growing old and weak... I actually belived some of his words... He attacked Greyscale the night he sent you away to the two guardiens and lost... Greyscale exiled him... I was foolish and followed Malagar into his exile bringing a large army with me..."
"We traveled far across the mountains of Dundarshal (Done-Dar-Shall) and wide against the bitter cold of the Glashalitorsh(Gla-sha-lee-torsh) and through the blistering heat of the Duuntalk(dune-tall) deserts... And finally... We found it... We found the very thing the kings before Greyscale died to protect... Malagar found..." The Dragon was cut off by a bolt of lightning and the clash of thunder somewhere close by. "Err... forgive me for rambling on like that... All this time I still haven't answered your questions have I?" The dragon asked. "Err... I was actually enjoying the story... What did you find?" Nigh asked. "Another story for after you finish your training... I am Flare Tol Kalashir (Flare-toll-cal-la-shure). Now Nigh... Trust me. Close your eyes and feel your energy flow through your body..."
"Good... good your doing great... Now focus that energy to force itself out of your body. Force the energy onto your skin." Flare said. Nigh did as instructed and he immediently felt a tingling. He felt it effecting his hands first. He looked down to see his blackened pinky and ring fingers starting to melt together into one! His other hand was doing the same and he could feel his toes fusing as well! Suddenly, a sharp pain surged throughout his body as Talons burst through his fingertips spraying a bit of blood with it! His shoes burst as his feet swelled with scales and Talons bursting through the toes and one through the heel. His entire body slowly began to swell bigger and scales appeared!
Nigh's neck grew and his spine changed with it. He was about 3 feet taller now and his vision became extremly clear. Even with the dark of night AND the thunderstorm going outside, he could see everthing as clear as if it was day! he was a dragon! suddenly, he felt a splitting pain as two wings burst out from his back making him scream out in pain (but to Nigh's suprise, it was a roar rather then a shout.)
His tail grew out with equal pain and slowly grew longer as his spine expanded and grew. Horns pushed out through his head and his hair fell to the ground only to be replaced with sharp and deadly frills. His face grew out and a snout formed. His tounge grew narrow and forked at the end and his teeth grew large and into daggers themselves!
Nigh's scales ripped and tore the threading of ripped clothing he already worn leaving him nude with only scraps of once noticable clothing once was. Nigh noticed that being a part reptile, it was nearly impossible to tell the gender so he had only a sense of unease at the thought of running around naked. After all, Flare was and from visions Flare shown him, other dragons were normally clothesless as well.
"Good! now that you have reawoken the dragon within you, you can begin training! You start tomorrow." Flare said. "What? Training?" Nigh asked. "What? you think just cause you have wings you can automatically fly? Or that you can break a bolder with your head just because you have horns? No no no... these things take time... patience... experience." Flare said. Nigh sighed but in all truth, he was actually excited. Mabey tomorrow he would finally get some answers...
CHAPTER FOUR: MEETING SHAR
The night passed and Nigh woke up feeling a surge of energy as his dragon form gained full awareness of its surrounding. As he got off his rock slab for a bed, He was immedeantly greeted by Flare. "You ready for your first day of training?" Flare asked. Nigh nodded feeling his anticipation bubble up inside him. Flare led Nigh outside of his cave. "Now Nigh, the first thing I will teach you is the most important of all things dragons can have. Its how to fly. This world is immense and dangerous both so if you ever get into trouble, which you will, you will need to know how to escape alive. To fly, you must learn how to control both your tail and wing muscles. Neither of which humans have any experience with."
Nigh was taught all forms of exercises and finally, was led to a small cliff. "Spread your wings and crouch on your hind legs. Feel the breeze, even the faintest, and use it... manipulate it to your advantage. When you feel it, jump and flap twice. That should get you caught into the winds current. If you jump to soon or to late, you will fall to the cliff bottom below. Your scales will protect you rom any severe damage but you will still feel pain." Flare said. Nigh did and when he felt the middle of the breeze hit him, he jumped and flapped twice as Flare said. He did it! he was flying! But he was flying... how did he stop or turn around?!?!?!? "Master Flareeeeee!!!!! Heeeeeelllllllppppp!!!!!!" Nigh shouted as he was sent flying farther and farther away.
To his dismay, instead of helping him, Flare flew out next to him. "There's nothing quite like the feel of the wind blowing through your membrane... Calm yourself Nigh. Remember to flap. If you flap to much, you'll lose altitude but it goes as the same should you flap to little. Feel the current shifting? Use it and tilt to your right." Flare said. Nigh did and he shot far to the right! He rebalanced himself. He tilted left a bit and returned closer to Flare. "I'm surprised Nigh... normally, it takes months to teach a dragon how to fly... You can fly officially now. Lets head back to the cave and we shall move on to the next section of your training." Flare said.
Nigh watched Flare gracefully land and attempted to do the same but instead came in to quickly and tumbled into the cave side upside down! Flare chuckled. "You'll find a technique suited for you in landing in time... but Your remarkably quick when it comes to speed, agility, and learning... Now your next test shall be a tougher one. As I said, I'm the Guardian of Fire and thus can teach it. However... There has been an... issue... and the Fire temple has gone into lockdown mode with the over ride switch INSIDE. Until that is pulled, nobody can enter... except through a VERY small hole that sends fresh air in and old air out from the cave. I'm to big to enter... but your just the right size. I need you to get in and open the door." Flare said. He gave Nigh a stick and lit the tip on fire. "It will most likely be dark in there so you'll need a light source." Flare added.
Nigh was led to the top of the mountain to a small hole Nigh could just barely squeeze through. Nigh dropped down and the inside WAS pitch black! Nigh's torch lit the place up a little. Enough for Nigh's dragon eyes to see in. The cave was like any other... except in the center was a large silver alter-like device. Nigh finally found a small area in the back of the cave that looked like a control panel. He walked toward it when suddenly, there was a large roar! Nigh recognized it as Flares! It was muffled and incomprehensible to hear through the solid stone but Nigh thought it was a call for help. Nigh ran over to the panel and just as he was about to pull a lever, a blueish-red flame shot at him! Nigh dodged it and a small red blur shot past him flying into the wall!
Nigh went over to see what it was and the second he tried to touch it, it turned and zipped away slightly burning Nigh's claw. Nigh grunted in the slight pain and went back over to the control panel. "Don't you dare touch that!" A small but threatening voice came. Nigh saw a small, young red dragon in a crouching position on the control panel. "I'm sorry but my master is out there and in some kind of trouble! I need to let him in before it's to late!" Nigh said. He tried to get to the lever but the young dragon latched onto his arm and wouldn't let go! "Hey!!! Get off me!" Nigh ordered. "Over my dead body slave of Malagar! Die!" The dragon said shooting a spark of embers into Nigh's face. It wasn't the fire, but the smoke burning Nigh's eyes that made him fall back.
Nigh felt the dragon let go and vanish but Nigh's temporary blinded state made him unable to tell where he went let alone where he was himself! Nigh's vision finally returned and Nigh managed to pull the lever before the dragon could attack him again. Flare came tumbling in bloody and badly hurt. Black blood oozed onto the floor from his broken scales and ripped skin! Nigh ran over and the small dragon sealed the door a second after. Nigh got the ripped clothing he saved and started to put them over the cuts and wounds. The dragon leaped onto Nigh's back slashing unsuccessfully trying to hurt or maybe even kill Nigh! Nigh ingnored him and went back to patching Flare's wounds. "Master Flare? You ok? What happened?" Nigh asked. The little dragon got off Nigh the second he said 'Master Flare'.
Flare muttered something and passed out. Nigh took Flare's satchel and got the same syrup he received a few days ago and poured a bit down Flare's throat. "I think he'll be ok... Now as for you little dragon, you want to fight? Now we can settle it then!" Nigh said. The dragon came out into the light from power being restored lighting the torches on the walls again. He was a VERY small dragon that looked almost exactly like Flare! It's scales were a lot brighter red however. "I will not fight you if you serve Flare. Though I hate Flare... I owe him my life. I am Shar Kirs, the Defender of the Fire Temple." Shar said. "I'm Nigh Komoro... Why did you attack me?" Nigh asked. "I though you were serving Malagar who happened to be outside just a second before... But now that Malagar knows that Flare and the Fire temple both are here... I fear that he will launch an attack with his army soon..." Shar said.
CHAPTER FIVE: WHAT'S A DARK-ONE?
"Aaarrrggghhh......... Wha... Where am I..." Flare asked. "Your inside the Fire Temple. Are you ok?" Nigh asked. "I... Malagar... How long have I been out???" Flare asked. "Two days... but at least I kept training." Nigh said. "This is bad... Very very bad... We need to go... Now!" Flare said. "Why?" Nigh asked. "Malagar knows that the Fire Temple is here now... He will use his army of Dark-Ones to attack and try to kill you..." Flare said.
"What? Dark-One? What's A Dark-One?" Nigh asked. "Remember anything about the army of Knights that would hunt Dragons for sport? A radical group of them broke off wanting to go beyond just hunting dragons... They want to eliminate ALL dragons JUST because they believe were an inferior, barbaric race. They are known as Dark-Ones. They are a mix of Humans and animated clay... Both are Incredibly dangerous! They have weapons tipped with poison that can kill a Dragon even as strong as me let alone Malagar in less then an hour! It would probably kill you instantly..." Flare said.
"But Dark-Ones aren't the only things you need to be worried about... Oh no... There's the seekers... They are small droids that are scouts. There equipped with a small pistol that can stun the most powerful dragon for a minute. They transmit what hey see through the air so very few dragons can block there transmissions. Even if a seeker's transmission is blocked, there still deadly. The second they stop transmitting, a VERY powerful self destruct sequence is activated. It can destroy an entire mountain in one blast."
"But it gets better, There's also the Deathwings... They are dragons that have been spared and injected with a type of poison that makes then lose all memories of being a dragon as well as mutates them. They are truly hideous beast... They have the body of the dragon, the wings of the dragon, but the paws of a lion and the mouth of a beetle with the tail of a scorpion. They have a lethal poison that will turn any dragon it stabs with it's tail INTO a Deathwing as well. They also make excellent siege weapons..." Shar said. "Shar? Your alive?" Flare asked truly surprised. "You think I was dead? I was saved by you and owe you my life... But don't think were friends! I hate you with my entire being for what you did to my father!" Shar said.
"Sorry to break up your reunion here... But I'm glad you know about the Dark-One army. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Drukson, general of the Dark-One army. It is a pleasure to kill you. " a mysterious figure said with black robes and a black hooded cloak. He was smoking a cigar which added onto his intimidating appearance. Drukson's face was covered by his long white hair that stood out against his black clothing. He wore two giant scimitars, a medium sized rifle of some sort, and a dagger. He also wore a strange medal around his neck. "You... Drukson... Please turn away from Malagar! He will lead you to nothing! I know.. and I regret EVERYTHING I done while serving him!" Flare said. "Hahahaha! We Dark-Ones are not fools... Were mercenaries... Malagar paid the highest and we resent Dragons with our entire being. Despite Malagar being a Dragon himself... He seeks to destroy all dragons himself to redeem his treachery." Drukson said.
"He's lying! He wants to wipe out the human race! Please! you must believe me!" Nigh said. "Oh? What's this? Are you perhaps Nigh? ...Yes... Yes you are... You are the greatest mockery of our order to ever exist! A human being a dragon? A Dragon spawn from a human womb! You are my target... And my bounty." Drukson said. Several seekers flew in and surrounded Flare and Shar! Drukson drew his two swords and was about to lunge at Nigh when Flare made a sword out of Fire and tossed it to Nigh! The seekers stunned Flare afterwords and caught the sword. "No no... Give him the sword... I want to see what he got and have a bit of fun... I haven't had a good fight in a few years..." Drukson said. Nigh was given the sword. This was the moment of truth... Nigh had to find a way to win or it would be all over... Nigh saw a huge Dark-One army outside ready to attack should the order be given.
CHAPTER SIX: FLARE'S TURN OF EVENTS
Nigh held up his flaming sword and blocked Drukson's attacks and swung back grazing Drukson's hand leaving a very small cut. "Well well well... I'm impressed. You actually managed to touch me... You, Flare, have taught him well as a sword fighter for him to be skilled enough to attack me let alone block my blows." Drukson said. "I didn't teach him to fight at all! He knew that when I met him. His training was from else where." Flare said. Nigh stood panting with his flaming sword pointed at Drukson with both hands tightly holding the grip.
"Hmm... Ha ha ha ha ha.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I haven't had a foe this worthy in years! I like you kid... to bad you still must die." Drukson said. He swiped one sword making Nigh jump back and the other of Drukson's swords hit the ground sending a blast of electricity shooting through the earth hitting Nigh! Nigh flew against the cave wall on the oppisite end of the cave! Nigh struggled to get back up as electirc sparked across his body. "Hmm... your resilient... I must commend you for your endurance.... just a shame you can't be rid of your atrocity of being a dragon!" Drukson said.
Nigh jumped up and from side of the cave to the other and back again, Nigh jumped and finally got close enough to destroy the seekers. Flare and Shar sealed the door locking Drukson inside the room with them! Almost instently, there was the beating of siege against the cave door. Drukson held off the three dragons attacks with a bit of diffulculty. Finally, he made his move switching to offencive. "ENOUGH!!!!! I've had enough of this!" Drukson shouted sending a blast of energy sending Shar, Flare, and Nigh against a cave wall.
Drukson stormed over to Nigh and raised his sword to deliver the killing blow against Nigh when suddenly, a wave of fire hit Drukson from his left side! Flare! The cave door burst open! "Nigh, Shar, RUN! I'm right behind you!" Flare shouted. A door opened from a hidden passage of the cave. Nigh and Shar got out and turned to get Flare but stopped when they saw him staying still on the spot.
"Go, run! ... Survive." Flare said specifically to Nigh. Nigh ran back toward Flare but a poison arrow hit Flare piercing his throat! Flare roared in pain in a volume that Nigh could barely withstand! Flare turned and slammed his tail into the cave's ceiling causing a cave in killing a large portion of the Dark army as well as Flare... And cutting off the only way Nigh had to get back to him.
Nigh stared at the collapsed doorway and the several rocks that blocked the way. "No... Flare... NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!" Nigh roared with tears coming down his face. "Nigh... he's gone... I think its good riddence to him... but for you... I'm sorry..." Shar said. "No... He's NOT gone! I know it!" Nigh said frantically digging rocks away trying to get back. Everytime he cleraed one, three more fell in its place. Nigh's firey sword began to extinguish itself as if knowing it's master was dead. "Drukson... I swear I will kill you for this!!!!!" Nigh roared.
"Nigh... i smell metal and smoke... The Dark-Ones are coming... We need to go... NOW!" Shar said. Nigh finally gave up and went with Shar to the exit before flying away. "Nigh? ... You ok?" Shar asked. "...why do YOU care? YOU don't care a bit about what just happened... 2 years I have suffered abuse... 2 years of forlorn life... 2 years I have been neglected and abandon! 2 YEARS WITH OUT A FRIEND! Now my first friend and he's dead!!! YOU TELL ME IF I'M OK?!?!?!" Nigh roared angrily at Shar. Shar was stunned and forgot to flap a few times causing him the need to quickly flap just to regain altitude. Nigh was silent for the rest of the night... at least until they landed to sleep for the night... That's when Nigh's powers first began to grow...
CHAPTER SEVEN: ROCKS, CAVES, AND DISTURBINGLY TASTY MUSHROOMS...
"Shar... I'm getting tired... I can't keep flying on like this! we need to land..." Nigh said. "I agree... besides you can't see well in the night like I can... There's a cave there!" Shar said. Nigh had to look hard to see a tiny opening from there height. Nigh was truly impressed at Shar's sight... Nigh's sight improved tenfold, but a true dragon's eyesight... To compare, its being able to see what a 3 year old child was drawing on the driveway with chalk from an airplane at its peak of height.
The two landed and Nigh gathered some wood and moss together for a fire. Shar's embers lit a small fire big enough to light the room... but that was it. The room was rather large... three Flares standing on top of each other on there hind legs wouldn't even fill the room! They cooked some wild mushrooms that Shar swore weren't poison and ate there fill. Nigh always hated mushrooms. ALWAYS HATED MUSHROOMS. He couldn't STAND the look, feel, shape, or taste of them. But when Nigh took a tiny nibble, his eyes grew wide with delight. These were delicious!
The cooked mushrooms tasted sweet and just a very tad bit spicy making it a VERY delecious dish. Later that night, Nigh was staring at the fire. Almost 3 hours past and Nigh hadn't seemed to have moved. "umm... Nigh? You ok?" Shar asked half afraid he'de be yelled at again. "...I... I rember fire... The start... Began with fire..." Nigh muttered. "Nigh? What? What are you saying?" Shar asked. Nigh looked away and up at Shar. "Sorry... I... I had bad experience with fire... Also... Sorry about earilier... I shouldn't have yelled at you like I did... I just been through so many pains... So many events... I guess I haven't been able to handle it all at once..." Nigh apologised.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Shar asked. "...Mabey later..." Nigh said staring back at the fire again. "... From the sound of things... were not to much diffrent from each other..." Shar said. "What do you mean?" Nigh asked. "If you want me to tell my story... you must promise to listen." Shar said. Nigh nodded and looked at Shar.
"Well... about 6 years ago, My egg was hatched and my father raised me... My mother was never around it seemed... and he refused to tell me why. So all is fine until one day, the city was attacked. My father told me to stay hidden and I did... But i watched... Flare led an army of Evil dragons and Dark-Ones against the city and my father fought in that war... He was winning! Then Flare came... He fought skillfully against my father. The two caused the very air to change! Ice vs Fire... A heat wave followed by a chilled wind hit me. My father beat Flare and spared him... only for Flare to lunge his tail blade into my father's stomach while he was off guard..."
"Dad wasn't killed by it, but Flare dragged his body with him back to Malagar who had gained control of Glielore. He's been missing ever since... Then I noticed the city was melting and food was to little for all of us to survive... My kind split into the four corners of Nalatashan seeking a new home... Perhaps they found one! ... I never did... I was about to die of starvation when a strange dragon opened my mouth and poured some form of syrup down my throat giving me enough strength to eat enough mushrooms he gave to resupply my strength. After I ate, it was then I noticed that it was Flare... The same Flare that I witnessed killing my father in cold blood... but he was diffrent then..."
"I swore I would NEVER forgive him untill he was dead... I guess that I kinda willed... anyway... It's getting late... We should go to sleep..." Shar said. Nigh had a million thoughts passing through his head. Shar was an ICE DRAGON? But he used the fire element... and was red like a fire dragon... how was this possible? Nigh found himself getting tired and eventually gave in to the relaxing grip of sleep.
CHAPTER EIGHT: FEEL THE EARTH... CLOSELY
The next morning, the two dragons woke up. Something was... different. The ground and air around them felt tense and Nigh had a creeping sensation he was being watched. Shar got up and stretched a bit. The two finally went toward the exit to leave when suddenly, a giant wall of stone and earth jumped up blocking the cave's exit! "You two dare to intrude upon my territory and use my resources and leave with out a word??? Come now... what kind of manner is that?" A VERY deep, rumbling voice came. The ground began to shake. The shaking got worse and worse! It became so bad, neither Nigh or Shar could bare to stand! A giant green dragon stood before them!
"Don't hurt us! we meant no harm! We are only passing through to find the Earth temple!" Shar said. "And what business do you have with the Earth temple? Have you come to desecrate it like the Fire temple has been?" The dragon demanded. "We were not responsible for the temple's fall! Drukson was!" Nigh stepped in angry at the accusation. "Hmm... There's something... different... about you... Your scales are as grey as Lord Greyscale's were... Who are you?" The dragon asked. "I am... umm... Slishar!" Nigh said. "Hmm... Slishar huh? I haven't heard of you before... I know that THIS dragon here is Shar. I helped him long ago... As i did his father... But why have you two come to my cave?" The dragon asked. "Wait... You helped me AND my father??? ...Terrador? Is that you?" Shar asked.
"Glad you still recognize me. But your friend here is a horrible liar. I knew the two of you were Nigh and Shar. Please, take your time and rest up here. Your safe from the dark army and Malagar's forces. But I need to teach Nigh the ways of the Earth before your welcome gets worn out. Drukson, Malagar, The Dark Army... Those are only villains. There are TWO dark beings out there that you are truly up against... The Dark Master and his puppet the Dark Dragon. You shall learn there true identities in time... But now, come with me." Terrador said. He got up and led them to a wall. Of course Nigh and Shar had to crawl to avoid being thrown around from the quaking earth.
Nigh saw Terrador open up a secret passage and led them down a long tunnel toward the heart of the mountain. Finally, they arrived. Dark blue fire torches burned making everything appear blue. In the center of the cavern lie a huge circular disk. Green light emitted from it. "Nigh, this is one of the many devices that can teach you the element of Earth. It is called a Slarnakars. It can open your subconscious and reawaken the Earth element if your a being known as a Shashalar. A human translation would be a "draconic elemental master" or a "dravatar." Only the few chosen can survive this learning. Step upon the Slarnakars and I will then teach you your training." Terrador said.
Nigh stepped onto the pad and became paralyzed suddenly! "Help! I can't move!" Nigh tried to say but his body was completely stunned. The green light then shot up and surrounded Nigh! Nigh felt strong... Hard... yet pained. He felt his massive size circling around the sun in space... Then Nigh realized he wasn't himself... He was seeing and feeling the Earth itself! The vision faded and Nigh opened his eyes. He had small green flecks in his eyes and felt stubborn... strong and sturdy... "Very good. You are indeed the Shashalar! Now, first off, you will need to focus all your energy into that bolder over there. Now, try to lift it... Feel as if you ARE the bolder..." Terrador said pointing to a bolder across the cave that must have weighed at least 20 tons! Nigh tried... but failed. "It's... To heavy! I can't do it..." Nigh said sadly. "If people gave up on the first try, you would never have seen many of the items you humans have today!" Terrador said.
"Humans? How do you know that..." Nigh asked but was interrupted by Shar. "Sorry for cutting in... But the two forces will be tracking us... So stop talking and start teaching!" Shar ordered. "You are just like you Father Shar... Bold, Blunt, rather in a rush... Heh... but I see truth in your words. Nigh, try again. Remember, BE the bolder." Terrador said. Nearly two days past and Nigh finally managed to not only lift the bolder, but manipulate it and other forms of Earth to his will! He could tunnel through solid rock and create shields of dirt, clay, stone, and other forms of the ground! "Nigh, you have learned well. But the hour draws late and you two both should rest. Your training shall continue tomorrow." Terrador said.
The night passed quickly and things were peaceful and quite. Nigh got out of his stone makeshift bed and walked over to where Terrador was. He discovered Terrador wasn't there! Suddenly, there was a loud explosion at the hidden tunnel! "Shar! Wake up!!!" Nigh shouted. Shar got up quickly and joined Nigh's side! Terrador's voice rang out through the caves! "Go back to your own world being of Darkness! You shall not pass so long as I am here and alive!" "That's Terrador! the Dark Army must've found us!" Shar said. Nigh began to go toward Terrador. Shar grabbed his tail. "Don't... Terrador is powerful... but he can't withstand the entire army! He knew it was following us to begin with... He told me that should they ever get here, We were to run. Not fight. Your not ready yet either!" Shar said. "I lost Flare! I'm not going to lose Terrador too!" Nigh said with tears in his eyes forming up. "I'm sorry Nigh... There's nothing we can do... We must keep going on!" Shar said. Nigh finally gave up and followed Shar through the secret escape hatch. Nigh and Shar flew away from the mountain and Nigh heard Terrador give out a roar of pain and defeat...
CHAPTER NINE: A HIGH VOLTAGE AREA
A week passed and Nigh and Shar were hidden from any form of evil. Nigh took out the map Flare gave him shortly before his death and opened it. "The map claims that the Electric temple should be right here!" Nigh said. "Theres nothing here though... It's just an empty field of flowers." Shar said in reply. "Then if it's not on the ground... maybe it's in the sky!" Nigh said noticing a odd cloud that wasn't moving. The two flew up and saw Nigh had been right! however, they came short before they were out of oxygen to breathe! They were forced to fly lower just to breathe again!
"*pant* *pant* that... *pant* was not... *pant* *pant* fun..." Shar said regaining his breath. "Maybe... *Pant* *pant* the answers... are these flowers! *pant*" Nigh said. He picked one and a strange juice leaked out through the stem. Nigh smelled it. It smelled terribly bitter. Nigh licked the drop and felt oxygen fill his lungs! He didn't need to breathe anymore! A moment later, he felt his chest burning and exhaled. "I was right! Shar, Every time we take a drink of these flowers, we can go with out breathing!" Nigh said. The two were spending the day picking the flowers in the field and drinking the liquid. Finally, they drank enough to last them a few days worth.
The two flew up into the sky and this time, didn't feel the lack of air! Nigh and Shar landed. Almost instantly, a loud voice called out. "Who's there? Visitors? Guest? Intruders? Hosties? Friends? Allies? Enemies? Hostiles? Darkness? Heroes? Villains?" The very fast talking voice came. "Err... I'm Nigh... And this is Shar. I need to learn the element of Electricity." Nigh said. "Ah, then welcome! I'm Volteer! Im the guardian, defender, guard, friend, protecter, ar..." "Thats good. Can you teach me the Electric energy please? We haven't much time..." Nigh cut him off.
"Hmm... so Terrador was defeated in defending his home and you two huh? hmm... poor, poor guy. Terrible business. Terrible, terrible business indeed... I see. You suspect that they will attack this place as well... So be it. I will fight and die if I must. Now, lets begin your training shall we? This is so exciting, excelerating, energizing,elec..." "Volteer! please!" Nigh said cutting him off again. Nigh was led to the large circular pad. He stood on it and again, felt completely paralyzed. He saw the dark. And from it, he shown. It was quick, fast, and almost instantly. You would miss him if you blinked. He was lightning. Nigh returned to his own body and yellow flecks overlapping with his green, now shown in his eyes.
Volteer trained Nigh for four days. Finally, Nigh could use Electricity! "Well well well... you two survived huh? Heh heh heh... I can't say i'm surprised. You always were unique..." a uncomfortably familiar voice said. It was Drukson! "You! You killed Flare and Terrador!" Nigh roared in anger. "Heh... they were not much of a challenge... The old coot buried himself alive while the other... He was much more honorable... He fought well... But I didn't have the time to fight him... Nigh was it? What you seen was just a simple... raiding party. This time, you won't escape. I brought the full extent of the Dark army with me this time!" Drukson said smiling menacingly. His cigar was almost gone so he threw it away out of his mouth and it fell to the ground miles and miles down. He drew his two scimitars and let out a shout. Millions of horrible, screeching shouts returned to his. Deathwings with Dark ones riding them flew up into the area!
Nigh made a sword out of Electric and held it in front of him in a defensive pose. Volteer and Shar got ready for combat getting into a aggressive stance. Dark ones charged at the three of them! The three fought hard and long and finally, with only a few minor scratches, cuts, and bruises, survived. "Think they were tough? Ha! that was the weakest of my Army!" Drukson said. Millions of Millions of Deathwings with Dark ones appeared! Seeker droids were surrounding them. "Urk! We can't win this fight! and I don't see a way out either!" Shar said. Drukson smiled grimly and a few seconds before he ordered the attack, a pillar of Fire blast through the cloud from somewhere below destroying the seekers causing them to blow up killing 3/4 of the entire army!
"NOOOO!!!!! WHO IS THE DEAD BASTARD????" Drukson roared in anger. Nigh took the chance of distraction to attack. He got near Drukson when he suddenly turned back and blocked Nigh's sword. "I am in a VERY bad mood! My army is nearly all destroyed! I will NOT toy with you ay longer!" Drukson roared. The two became locked into a heavy sword fight. Shar and Volteer started attacking the remaining army that dared to try to kill Nigh while he was busy fighting Drukson. Shar took down another Dark one while one snuck up behind him and was about to kill him when suddenly, a red glare flew up killing the Dark one! The blur was gone as quick as it came.
Drukson and Nigh were locked in a heavy blow - to - blow combat. Only one would achive victory! Nigh, though exausted, noticed Drukson was weakening himself. Both there blows became slower and slower and weaker and weaker. Finally, Nigh had to break off. Drukson did as well. Fire burned in Druksons eyes as red as a fire of hate. Drukson suddenly run toward Nigh shouting as loud as he could with his scimitars in the air! A sudden flash of his blades and nigh's sword flew hundreds of miles off the cloud-field. "Now... I will... KILL YOU!!!!!" Drukson roared. A flash of silver flew up and Nigh caught it JUST as Drukson ran toward Nigh to deliver the killing blow. There was a SPLURT sound and Drukson and all the Dark ones as well as Shar and Volteer stopped.
Drukson looked down. There was a long, silver blade sticking through his stomach! Nigh had held the silver thing out with out realizing it! Nigh instently reconized it as the sword he lost when the barn burnt down! Drukson stood gasping with the blade running him through. "But... but no... dragon... could hurt... me..." Drukson said gasping for air as his life was drawing to an end. Nigh managed to stand up. "I'm not a full dragon..." Nigh managed to say weakly gasping for air himself. He returned to his human form.
"No... No... impossible... your... you... Urgh.... ARGH!" Drukson cried out. He vanished into an explosion of small black energy orb type things. The Dark Army, now without there leader on the field, began to retreat. Shar gasped. They... had won! Against all odds, they had won! But how... There was a loud, familiar roar. The red blur shot up through the clouds and this time, landed. It was... Flare!
CHAPTER TEN: FLARE REVEALS ALL
Nigh jumped up feeling a new surge of energy flow into his veins. "Flare! your alive!!! ...But how? How did you survive?" Nigh asked. "Not now young one... you are hurt and weary... you three must rest. Let us return to Terrador's cave. He will be happy to hear of the events." Flare said. "Terrador is alive???" Nigh asked in disbelief. Flare smiled. "All in due time young one... Now come. It will be night fall soon." Flare said. The four dragons returned to Terrador's cave where he was waiting for them.
After an hour or so of resting, they felt renewed. (Rest and a bit of Flare's mushroom soup always helps!) Nigh told them all the story of what took place and how Flare had managed to turn the tide of the war in there favor. "I suppose you would care to know what happened once we got seperated now." Flare said. Despite the two Guardiens knowing little about what happened, they eagerly listened.
"Once the cave started to collapse, I hit a hidden panel that slid into a cavern under the temple where I could survive the cave in. I would've joined you right away, but I was poisoned by there arrows and weapons. I managed to cure myself through a mixture of herbs grown under the temple in case such an event were to happen (which it did) and of course a tecqnique that a fire master can use to burn extra supplies stored in the body. I targeted the poison's compound and burned it ecentually killing it. However, it drained me of much, much strength."
"Once I woke up, two days had already gone by. If things were going to plan, you two were either near, or at terradors cave by then. I tried to fly, but I was still to weak to do nearly anything. I was delayed about a week there JUST by need to regenerate myself. By then, you should have been at Volteer's, which you fourtunally were. I traveled to Terrador's cave here, only to find the Dark Army and Drukson had already come looking for you. He was also poisoned and near death when I arrived. I cured him just in time luckily."
"Once I helped Terrador regain his strength, He told me he sent you two toward Volteer's temple. I saw and smelled smoke and knew that you were being stalked by the Dark Army. I followed them and they led me straight to you. I saw them attack and flew as fast as I could to aid you. Poor Terrador here was still to weak to offically fight. I shot a blast of fire distracting them long enough for you three to attack a good hit." Flare said ending his story.
"Wait... what about the part where you tossed me my sword?" Nigh asked. "What? Sword? I didn't do anything of the sort! infact, the last sword EVER forged here was nearly three millinia ago..." Flare said. "Then who threw me this sword?" Nigh asked. "May... May I see that sword for a moment?" Terrador asked. Nigh brought him the sword. "Oh my... I haven't seen this blade of power in nearly..." Terrador trailed off. "What? Do you know anything about this sword?" Nigh asked. Terrador quickly reasserted himself. "Ehem.. No. I only heard stories and pictures" Terrador said quickly. Nigh suspected Terrador was holding out...
"Anyway, Volteer, Terrador, you two should stay in your temples incase the Dark forces return. My temple being destroied and buried, should be naturally safe. I'll escort these young ones to the temples." Flare said the next morning. The two agreed and Volteer left to return to his sky haven. Flare, Nigh, and Shar all flew off toward the next temple... and there next adventure.
CHAPTER ELEVEN: THE AFTERMATH
"Master, Drukson has failed in his mission to destroy the Dragonling. Shall I send general Malagar to deal with these pest?" A Darkone scout said bowing to a dark, sinister looking dragon who's head was covered with a hood and his body a long, black robe. only his nose and mouth could be seen through the hood. His eyes glowed an evil red.
"So... Nigh has bested Drukson has he? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....... I must say... I'm impressed. Yes... Send Malagar to deal with these... pest... They cannot learn the plans I have made as to reawaken Tri..." "Master, forgive me for interrupting, But i JUST got news from our outpost. It would appear that our former master, Flare, is assisting them in there journey." A second scout said rushing in out of breath.
"Ah... So Flare is helping them huh? That would explain how they beat Drukson... Do they suspect anything of his ability? Let alone does Flare find anything unusual?" The Dark Master asked. "Err... No sir... Pardon me for asking... but what is his 'ability' you speak of?" The first scout asked. The Dark Master smiled evily showing his yellow-orange teeth. He let out a dark laughter that gave even the Deathwings a sense of dread. "Send Malagar... If he fails... Then it shall be a... reunion... between Nigh..." The Dark Master said.
